At the Indo-Pacific Studies Center, our Senior Fellows are distinguished experts in international relations, security, diplomacy, development, and regional affairs. Appointed for their deep subject-matter expertise and proven leadership, they serve as thought leaders, mentors, and ambassadors of IPSC’s mission.
Drawing from diverse backgrounds across government, academia, defence, and civil society, our Senior Fellows help shape IPSC’s research agenda, guide strategic initiatives, and represent IPSC in high-level dialogues across the Indo-Pacific and beyond.Together, they form the intellectual backbone of our work—anchoring our commitment to an inclusive, rules-based, and resilient Indo-Pacific.
Role and Contribution of Senior Fellows

Prof. Pradeep Nair PhD, FRAS, FRGS

Pradeep Nair is a Professor of New Media Studies and Director Research at Central University of Himachal Pradesh, India. A Senior Research Fellow in Earth System Governance Project at Uppsala University, Sweden, he is an expert member of Global Nitrogen Governance Working Group of International Nitrogen Network (iN-Net) - a U.S. National Science Foundation-funded project. His study focuses on coastal sustainability, climate change, and ecosystem restoration through mitigation, adaptation, and nature-based solutions. He is affiliated to UNEP and UNFCCC as a Climate Expert.
Natalie Treloar
Senior Fellow
Natalie is a Senior Fellow at the Indo-Pacific Studies Center (IPSC), a Senior Analyst at the National Institute for Deterrence Studies (NIDS), and the Australian Company Director of Alpha-India Consultancy. She has worked extensively on issues relating to Australia’s national defence strategy and military capability, strategic deterrence, and U.S. extended nuclear deterrence. Natalie is working on matters of geopolitics and strategic alliances to achieve deterrence in the Indo-Pacific region. She enjoys working collaboratively with policymakers, diplomats, scholars, and emerging leaders across the Indo-Pacific and globally to realise these ends. Natalie co-hosts the NIDS Deterrence Down Under podcast and has published articles in the Global Security Review. Natalie holds a Master of Strategic Studies and a Master of Business Administration from the Australian National University and a Master of Engineering Management and a Bachelor of Science (Applied Chemistry) from the University of Technology Sydney.
Captain James JB Park
Senior Fellow
James JB Park, a Captain (R) of the Republic of Korea Army, is a 2024 Non-resident James A. Kelly Korea Studies Fellow. He began his public service as an interpreting officer stationed in the Korea-U.S. Combined Forces Command, liaising between the two great nations’ servicemen. He was awarded several commendations from the Eighth United States Army and the Combined Forces Command. Beyond his recent media presence, including the Wall Street Journal, the Diplomat, and Asia Times, Captain Park is a Young Leader of the Pacific Forum and a NextGen member of the Royal United Service Institute. He holds a BA in politics from New York University, and is in pursuit of his MA at Columbia.
Dr. Aminul Islam

Dr. Aminul Islam is a Judge of the Bangladesh Judicial Service and currently serves as Deputy Secretary/Deputy Solicitor at the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs. He holds a PhD in Law from the University of Sussex, UK, and is the author of Protection of Civilians in UN Peacekeeping Operations: Legal Responsibility and Accountability (Routledge, 2024). A Commonwealth Scholar and Prime Minister Fellow, his research focuses on UN peacekeeping, the use of force, international peace and security, human rights, legal accountability, and dispute resolution. He serves as a peer reviewer for academic journals and is a Non-Resident Fellow at the Indo-Pacific Studies Centre (IPSC), Australia.
Dr. Ramanand N. Garge
Senior Fellow
Dr. Ramanand N. Garge is a distinguished scholar and practitioner in national security and strategic affairs. He has held leadership roles across diplomacy, academia, and government, including as Director at Rashtriya Raksha University and cultural diplomat at the Consulate General of India in Sydney. A PhD holder in counterterrorism law from Gujarat National Law University, he has published widely on maritime security, terrorism financing, and Indo-Pacific strategy. He has represented India in bilateral and multilateral dialogues, and his contributions to India–Australia relations have earned him fellowship recognition at the Australian Institute of Music.
