Geopolitical Risk Analysis Program

A professional certification for executives, analysts, and strategic leaders — delivered through short, intensive modules that build the tools to assess geopolitical risk and make better decisions across the Indo‑Pacific.

The Geopolitical Risk Analysis Program is IPSC's flagship professional certification — a rigorous, practitioner‑focused program that equips participants with the structured analytical tools, regional knowledge, and strategic frameworks used by intelligence professionals, senior policymakers, and global risk practitioners.

Delivered online across two cohort windows — North America & USA and Asia‑Pacific & Europe — the program combines four live, 3.5‑hour modules (14 CPD hours in total) with optional short applied exercises, drawing on IPSC faculty, Indo‑Pacific practitioners, and the analytical resources of IPSC's research centers.

Program Curriculum

Four high‑impact modules. 14 CPD hours.

The Geopolitical Risk Analysis Program is delivered as four live, 3.5‑hour online intensives. Each module carries 3.5 CPD credits and builds on the last — moving from analytical tradecraft through to writing decision‑ready risk briefs in the Indo‑Pacific context.

Module 01

Foundations of Geopolitical Risk Tradecraft

Defining geopolitical risk and how it differs from political, financial, and security risk. Core frameworks for identifying, categorising, and communicating risk to decision‑makers.

Module 02

Country Risk & Indicator Design

Building practical indicator sets and risk matrices — selecting and weighting metrics, assessing exposure, and structuring country‑level risk assessments for Indo‑Pacific states.

Module 03

Scenarios, Pathways & Early Warning

Scenario construction and pathways analysis — identifying drivers of escalation and de‑escalation, designing early‑warning indicators, and moving from static snapshots to forward‑looking risk views.

Module 04

Writing the Geopolitical Risk Brief

Turning complex analysis into concise, decision‑ready product. Structuring arguments, grading risk, communicating uncertainty, and producing a professional Indo‑Pacific country or issue brief.

Certification & CPD

Each module carries 3.5 hours of structured learning (3.5 CPD credits). Participants who complete all four modules and submit an integrated geopolitical risk brief receive the IPSC Certificate in Geopolitical Risk Analysis, with a CPD statement for 14 hours of learning. Individual modules may also be taken as standalone CPD units, with a micro‑certificate issued for each.

Certification

Three tiers of IPSC certification.

Certification level reflects the number of modules completed, the quality of assessed work, and the depth of engagement with the tools — recognising different levels of analytical achievement in Indo‑Pacific geopolitical risk.

Tier I

IPSC Certificate in Geopolitical Risk Analysis

Awarded to participants who complete all four live modules (14 CPD hours) and submit a satisfactory integrated geopolitical risk brief. Demonstrates solid proficiency in structured analysis and Indo‑Pacific risk assessment.

Tier II

IPSC Advanced Certificate in Geopolitical Risk Analysis

Awarded to participants who complete the four‑module sequence, meet the advanced performance threshold on the integrated brief and supplementary analytical tasks, and demonstrate applied depth across multiple Indo‑Pacific cases.

Tier III

IPSC Fellowship in Geopolitical Risk Analysis

IPSC's highest certification tier — awarded to a small number of participants who complete the full four‑module program with distinction, deliver exceptional analytical output, and are nominated by IPSC faculty. Fellows are invited into IPSC's practitioner network and research community and may be considered for future research and teaching collaborations.

Faculty & Delivery

Taught by practitioners. Grounded in research.

The program is delivered by IPSC faculty alongside practitioners and experts drawn from across the Indo‑Pacific — intelligence professionals, diplomats, military officers, and strategic analysts with direct operational experience.
