Chokepoint Closure Simulator

Close a strait PUBLIC PREVIEW

Select the Taiwan Strait or Malacca–Singapore Straits to explore an illustrative closure. The public preview reproduces the graphical structure of the IPSC simulator: diversion flow, absorbing passages, country exposure and a strategic assessment. Full numerical estimates, multi-closure analysis and adjustable modelling are reserved for subscribers.

Where the trade goes

Illustrative pathways, shown in the original simulator’s flow-diagram format. Ribbon sizes are deliberately equal and do not indicate real trade shares or modelled quantities.

Which straits absorb the pressure

Illustrative receiving routes in the original simulator’s table format. Actual existing loads, transferred volumes, new loads and strain are reserved for subscribers.

Who loses most

Selected potentially exposed economies, using the original simulator’s bar-chart format. Bars are uniform placeholders, not relative exposure estimates.

About this public demonstration

The public preview uses illustrative route pathways and nonquantitative display placeholders. It does not include IPSC’s trade dataset, routing weights, country values, derived risk scores or calculation engine. No graphic length or displayed order represents a measured or estimated relative risk. The complete simulator and its underlying methodology are available only through authorised IPSC access.
