Pre-Program Leadership Development Activities
Prepare to lead, connect, reflect, and grow. These optional activities are designed to help you gain momentum before the Forum officially begins.

1. Virtual Peer Networking
Objective: Start building your cohort network.
- Join the official IPSC WhatsApp group for your cohort
- Introduce yourself with your name, country, and 1–2 interests
- Reach out to 2–3 peers for a short virtual coffee chat or message exchange

2. Mini Leadership Challenge
Objective: Reflect on cyber leadership and sovereignty under pressure.
- Download the scenario brief: The Digital Lockdown: A Cyber Crisis in the Indo-Pacific
- Use the optional submission template to draft your response
- Recommended reading: Cyber Governance Background Brief
- Submit your memo (300 words max) via the submission portal by 20 May 2025
3. Vision Development
Objective: Begin articulating your leadership purpose.
Journal Prompts:
- What does leadership in the Indo-Pacific mean to me?
- In 5 years, how do I want to have contributed to the region?
Write 300–500 words. Optionally, submit your vision to be shared anonymously with peers.
4. Goal Setting
Objective: Set intentions for the Forum.
Download and complete the Goal Setting Worksheet to define:
- Two personal growth goals
- One professional or strategic goal
5. Decision-Making Simulation
Note: Incorporated into Activity 2 (Mini Leadership Challenge).
6. Book Club (Optional)
Reading: Leadership Without Easy Answers by Ronald Heifetz
This foundational book on adaptive leadership aligns with themes of Week 1.
