Call for Papers: Strategic Futures in the Indo-Pacific Series, Volume 1 (2026)

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you The Indo-Pacific Studies Center (IPSC) invites paper submissions for the inaugural volume of its flagship series, Strategic Futures in the Indo-Pacific. This new annual publication aims to spotlight bold, original, and policy-relevant ideas that envision alternative strategic trajectories for the Indo-Pacific region.

  • Volume 1 Theme: “Sovereignty and Strategy Beyond Hegemony”

  • We welcome contributions from scholars, practitioners, and analysts across government, academia, think tanks, and civil society

  • Submissions may address geopolitics, climate and energy, trade, multilateralism, security cooperation, digital futures, and regional governance

  • All selected papers will be peer-reviewed and published in an open-access volume launching in early 2026

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.

Hugh Tuckfield is the Director of the Indo-Pacific Studies Center. Hugh is a political theorist and human rights lawyer with degrees in Economics and Law from Monash University, a Master of Human Rights and Democratisation (Asia -Pacific Region) from the University of Sydney and the Kathmandu School of Law, and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Sydney in the Discipline of Government and International Relations.
